With the Alu-Cab Hercules pop-up roof, your Toyota HZJ75 and 78 / GRJ78 It can be easily converted into a camper.
Roof installation takes about 2 days. The original roof is cut and the Hercules roof is mounted, glued and riveted, thus giving the vehicle greater stability.
Assisted by gas springs, the roof opens in seconds. A circumferential elastic band facilitates the closure of the canvas.
With the roof open, there is a free height of about 2,80 m. When the two-part bed is unfolded, you get a nearly 2,45m long bed that can be conveniently accessed from inside the vehicle. A 7 cm wide mattress guarantees a good rest. Various LED reading lamps and lights provide illumination at night.
The large side windows with mosquito nets provide a good view and ventilation. The rear door awning keeps the entrance dry and shaded.
The pop-up roof is made from 2mm thick aluminium, reinforced with integrated tubular struts to give additional stability. Roof rails make it easy to mount accessories. However, keep in mind that storing heavy equipment on top of your vehicle's roof will affect how easy it is to open.
The roof is padded with insulating foam. Thanks to the three-layer tent fabric with polyurethane membrane and stretch function, the tent is windproof, opaque and waterproof.
The Hercules roof is 18 cm higher than the original roof and weighs around 130 kg. By removing the weight of the original roof we add an additional net weight of around 70kg, in many cases less than a conventional roof tent with its cross bars.
