The Petromax Original Cast Iron Pot, often referred to as a Dutch oven, is perfect for cooking and baking outdoors or in the oven at home. Cast iron pots have been around since the XNUMXth century. Back then, people already appreciated the unique properties of cast iron. With cast iron pots, Petromax renews this tradition and also equips the pot with a multitude of refined details.

Thanks to the excellent characteristics of cast iron and the special structure of the surface, heat is retained and distributed efficiently. The pre-treated (seasoned) surface eliminates the need for a first seasoning and the sturdy cast iron pot is ready for use right away.
Outdoors it is used over an open fire or with charcoal and briquettes. Thanks to the high edge of the lid, embers and charcoal can be placed on the upside-down lid of the cast iron pot. In this way, the pot is heated from all sides, thus also allowing, for example, baking bread.

Fine-tuned details for greater culinary pleasure
The pot is equipped with refined elements that facilitate its handling and increase the pleasure of cooking.
A sturdy handle allows for safe lifting of the pot and a thermometer hole allows you to check the temperature without having to lift the lid. If you want to lift the hot lid, it's easy with the Petromax lid lifter.
Another highlight is the fact that the lid can be rotated and used as a frying pan.  
Along with all these clever details, the Dutch oven has the classic Petromax design: the lid is adorned with the elegant Petromax logo, which has always been synonymous with excellent quality and premium products.

Available in different sizes and expandable with practical accessories
The Petromax Dutch oven is available in various sizes, so that the right pot can be selected for the respective recipe or number of people. All pot sizes are available with feet or flat bottoms. In the medium ft6 version without feet, the fire pot has a capacity of approximately 5,5 litres. This allows you to prepare dishes for 4 to 8 people.

In addition to the lid lifter, other accessories for the Petromax Dutch oven are available, such as the transport and storage bag, the care paste and the metal ring sponge for cleaning cast iron. We also offer cast iron grid inserts, which above all allow cooking and baking without burning the food.
